Content Agency

An agency owner built 2 AI helpers to post the news for her. One brought in a client.

She saves "hours every week," and a demo of it got a client asking her to build one.

The business

The Blogsmith

An SEO content agency run by founder Maddy Osman. The story doesn't say where it's based or how big it is.

The problem

Osman wanted to post about industry news on her brand's social pages. But that meant spending her mornings reading news sites, or skipping it when client work came first.

The bot or tool

Zapier Agents

Two AI helpers built in Zapier, with Airtable and Slack. One finds and sums up the news. The other writes posts in her style for her to approve.

How they set it up

  1. Helper 1 runs every morning. It searches Google News, keeps only the stories that fit her rules, writes a short summary, and saves it in Airtable so nothing gets posted twice.
  2. Helper 2 runs a few minutes later. It takes the day's picks, follows her style guide, and drafts 1 LinkedIn post and 1 X post.
  3. The drafts go to a Slack channel for her to approve.

The first version took her about a week to build. She tests after every change.

The result

Hours saved
"Hours every week" (no exact number given)
Money made or saved

She built two Zapier agents. One found her a new client.

AI Lab by ActiveCampaign, Apr 16, 2026. ActiveCampaign sells marketing software. The "13 hours a week" number on that page comes from a separate survey, not from Osman, so we left it out.
